Note: Since Himokilan is no longer under the jurisdiction of Inopacan, a separate boat needs to be booked at Hindang, an adjacent municipality, if we want to visit the island. It has been heard that Inopacan applies the same policy for guests coming from Hindang. Therefore, if a boat is booked via Hindang, guests are not permitted to visit Mahaba, Apid, and Digyo Islands, which fall under the governance of the Municipality of Inopacan.
How to Get to Cuatro Islas
From Manila
For tourist outside the Philippines you can fly from Manila to Tacloban or Cebu and then take a van heading towards Inopacan.

From Tacloban
The nearest airport to Cuatro Islas is the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport in Tacloban City. From Manila, you can take a direct flight to Tacloban. Once you arrive at the airport, you can take a van (Van-Vans, Grandtours, Duptours) or bus to Inopacan, the jump-off point to the islands. The travel time from Tacloban to Inopacan is approximately 3 to 4 hours.
From Cebu
You can also reach Cuatro Islas by taking a ferry / Roro (Roll on Roll off heavy freight shipping) from Cebu City port to either one of these towns Hilongos, Ormoc, or Baybay. We recommend Hilongos or Baybay, the closest ports to Inopacan.
From Hilongos / Ormoc / Baybay
From these places, there’s nothing to worry about; you can take a van directly to Inapocan.
For Private Transfer
You can hire a private van or car directly to Inopacan from Tacloban or Ormoc. This option is more expensive but convenient, especially if traveling in a group.
From Inopacan Proper
Once you arrive at Inopacan proper, make your way to the municipal hall, where you’ll find the pantalan or dock for boats going to Cuatro Islas, located directly behind it.
Once you arrive in Inopacan municipal hall, you can rent a boat to take you on an island-hopping tour to the four islands of Cuatro Islas: Digyo, Mahaba, Apid, and Himokilan.
